We are looking for a local adopter for Jim. Ideally you will live no more than 30 - 45 minutes away from our kennels in Milnthorpe, Cumbria. Applications from further afield can't be considered, sorry. You'll be contacted within 7 days if your application is to be progressed.

Jim is a gentle old soul. He is affectionate and happy to be outside. He enjoys gentle walks in the sunshine and can break into a canter on a down hill. He is happy to walk with other dogs that don’t bother him too much and let him just potter. He won't tolerate a silly dog. He wants a quiet, rural, retirement home that will give him companionship, time outside and gentle walks. He would probably not enjoy having children in the home who may pester him. He will need pain relief for the rest of his life, due to spondylosis (arthritic change of the vertebrae). He has previously been a farm dog, so has probably never lived in a house and will need to be given patience and time to adapt. His previous home had cats, but this is not something we have been able to test.

I may be able to live with another calm dog.

Not sure what he's like with cats although there was some on the farm.
